Atleticom ASD organizes on Saturday, May 11 the 4th edition of “The Mile of Rome,” a road race event on the distance from the Anglo-Saxon Mile (1,609.34 m). This race takes place under the umbrella of FIDAL, included in the national calendar and awarded the recognition Silver Label, enjoys the patronage of CONI, Roma Capitale and Regione Lazio.

1 - MEETING

The meeting is scheduled for Saturday, May 11 at 11:00 in Piazza del Popolo.

2 - INSCRIPTIONS

Registrations are limited to the first 500 members. Registration will be held until Thursday, May 9, online on the portal www.ilmigliodiroma.com.

The event is both competitive and non-competitive. For competitive and non-competitive races the registration fee is set at € 10.00 until Thursday, May 9th. If you buy the entire team, consisting of 8 athletes, the registration fee for each component is € 8.00.

The competitive race is reserved for athletes aged 16 and over in 2019.The non-competitive race is open to all without age limits and without the obligation to present a medical certificate. For minors, at the time of registration, you will have to upload online the appropriate form of authorization of parents / legal guardians downloadable from the site. 

3 - COMPETITIVE RACE PARTICIPATION 

-REGISTERED ATHLETES IN ITALY

Based on the provisions of the "Rules for the organization of events" issued by FIDAL, the competitive test is reserved for Italian / foreign athletes aged 16 and over 2019, with the following requirements

- Athletes registered for 2019 with companies affiliated to FIDAL;- Athletes registered for a Sports Promotion Organization (section Athletics) affiliated with FIDAL, in possession of Runcard EPS, will have to upload at the time of enrollment their valid medical certificate of competitive suitability specific for the practice of athletics and present a copy at the time of collection of the bib number and race package; 

- Athletes in possession of Runcard FIDAL, combined with a valid medical certificate of fitness suitable for practicing athletics, must upload both at the time of registration and submit a copy at the time of collection of the bib.

In accordance with the FIDAL regulations, participation in the competitive race with only the competitive medical certificate or with a membership to a Sports Promotion Agency (EPS) is not allowed.


- ATHLETES RESIDENTS IN ITALY

Italian athletes registered abroad, who are over 16 years old in 2019, can participate with the following requirements:

- Athletes registered for 2019 with clubs affiliated a FIDAL;


- Athletes registered for a Sports Promotion Organization (Section Athletics) affiliated with FIDAL, in possession of Runcard EPS, which will have to load upon registration their medical certificate of competitive suitability specific for the practice of athletics and submit a copy at the time the bib is picked up;

- Athletes in possession of Runcard FIDAL, combined with a medical certificate of competitive suitability specific for the practice of athletics in accordance with Italian regulations, must upload both at the time of registration and submit a copy at the time of withdrawal of the bib and race pack; (the appropriate form, previously filled in by your doctor, can be requested at the e-mail address This email address is being protected from spambots. - Athletes registered with clubs affiliated with Foreign Federations of Athletics recognized by the IAAF will have to upload a self-certification document certifying their membership at the time of registration.

 

- FOREIGN ATHLETES (OUTSIDE OF ITALY)

Foreign athletes aged 16 and above in 2019, can participate with the following requirements:

- Athletes in possession of Runcard FIDAL, combined with a medical certificate of competitive fitness specific for the practice of athletics, in accordance with Italian health legislation, must upload both at the time of registration and submit a copy at the time of withdrawal of the bib and pack race;

- Athletes registered with clubs affiliated with Foreign Federations of Athletics recognized by the IAAF will have to upload a self-certification document attesting the enrollment (the specific form, previously completed by your doctor, can be requested at e-mail address This email address is being protected from spambots. 4 - INSCRIPTION AND PAYMENT METHODS

Registration is made online at www.ilmigliodiroma.com (the same is non-refundable).

The online registration is fixed in the amount of € 10.00 valid until the date of May 9th. It is possible to buy the whole team, consisting of 8 athletes, in this case the registration fee for each component is € 8.00. 

If spots are available, registrations will also be possible on the day of the event.

 

The payment methods are through:

- electronic payment: credit card, prepaid cards and paypal;

- in cash at the Atleticom headquarters in Via dei Monti della Farnesina 77;

- bank transfer, payable to ASD Atleticom

You can also make cumulative transfers for more than one athlete, in which case you will need to report in the reason for the names of all those to whom the payment is affiliated.


5 - REIMBURSEMENT OF THE PARTICIPATION FEE

The registration fees are not refundable under any circumstances. If a registered athlete is unable to participate, he can transfer the registration to another athlete communicating all the necessary data and documentation of the substitute.

The transfer of an entry or the name change of a participant will be free until the date of May 4, 2019. In the last week before the event, for each transfer / change of name you will have to pay a supplement for € 5.00.

6 – PICK UP THE BIB

The bibs can be collected on Saturday, May 11th, 2019 at Piazza del Popolo from 10 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. from the appropriate stand.

7 – TEAM COMPOSITION AND BIB NUMBERS ASSIGNMENTS

The teams and the allocation of the bib numbers will be automatically prepared by the Organizing Committee taking into account the accreditation times and the chronometric results established in the previous edition.

Each team will consist of 8 athletes at a time.

8 – TEAM DEPARTURES

The departures of each team will be staggered with a distance of two minutes from each other. First, the batteries of the non-competitive tests will start and then the ones of the competitive one.

The start of the race is scheduled for 2:00 P.M.

9 - ONE MILE MIND (dedicated to University Teams)

One Mile Mind is a competition open to universities all over the world.The teams will be formed by a selection of students from the universities who want to take part in the event, which will compete on the distance of the Mile (1609.34 m). Each team will be composed of eight representatives of the state or private university, of which at least 2 must be of different sex from the rest of the members (e.g. 6 men and 2 women or vice versa) and a team member can be a teacher. The sum of the best seven times of the athletes of the same university will determine the final classification of the competitive test. At 8.00 pm, the Pitch One Mile Minds will take place on the stage of the awards in the presence of the public and the jurors. The university teams will have 3 minutes to exhibit a project whose theme is published on ilmigliodiroma.com. The jury will judge and evaluate the projects, giving a score of 0" to the team judged last, 180", 360 ", 540" and so on adding 180 seconds to the winning team.

This time, expressed in seconds, will be subtracted from the time obtained in the competitive test. The three Universities that will have obtained the lowest overall time will be awarded (total time of the best seven arrived on the mile minus the bonus).

The winning team will be rewarded with € 5000, the second with € 3000, the third with € 1000.

 

10 - ELITE ATHLETES

The athletes in competition considered as elite by the organization will be identified by the color of the bib. Also, the first 30 bibs will be reserved for the elite band. The organization has planned a separate departure for the athletes considered elites. A starting list will be drawn up in addition to a time slot for the departure of both the men and women’s teams.

11 - AWARDS

The first 3 women and men who have achieved the three best lap results will be rewarded for the Top Runner competition.The first of each category provided by the FIDAL regulations for the competitive race will also be awarded.The awards will take place at the end of the various races scheduled at Piazza del Popolo.There are no prizes dedicated to foot races.

12 - CITY CUP OF ROME

The first male and female athletes, residing in the metropolitan city of Rome, will be awarded prizes.

 

13 - AWARDS AND CLASSIFICATIONS DEDICATED TO TEAMS


In the competitive test, there will be a ranking and an award ceremony dedicated to the teams who compete on the distance of the Mile (1609.34 m). The teams that have purchased the entire team can access this special competition. Each team will be composed of eight athletes, of which at least 2 members must be of a different sex from the rest (e.g. 6 men and 2 women or vice versa). The sum of the best seven times of the athletes of the same team will determine the final classification.

 

14 – PRIZE MONEY

The prize money amounts to a total of € 4,000.00.

The first 3 men and women athletes will be awarded:

- 3rd place € 400.00 

WOMEN GENERAL CLASSIFICATION

- 1st place € 600.00

 ITALIAN MEN CLASSIFICATION

- 1st place € 250.00
- 2nd place € 150.00
- 3rd place € 100.00

ITALIAN WOMEN CLASSIFICATION

- 1st place € 250.00
- 2nd place € 150.00
- 3rd place € 100.00

The cash prizes are awarded in compliance with the rules of the IAAF and with the laws of the Italian State. The Organization reserves the right to make private negotiations for the appearance of top athletes to invite to the race.

Prizes will be paid within 90 days from the date of the event. For the prize pool allocation, the official time will be taken into consideration (pistol shot at the start). No cash prizes (or similar features: generic value vouchers, bonuses, salaries, reimbursement of expenses of any kind and in any capacity) can be provided for athletes of the categories Beginners, Boys, Cadets, Students, for the owners of "Runcard" , "Runcard EPS"


15 - TIME AND CLASSIFICATION


Timekeeping and classification will be provided by an external company. The same rankings will be validated by the FIDAL Technical Delegate.

The chip that each athlete will receive will be applied on the bib and must be returned to the employees after the finish. Athletes who wear the chip incorrectly will not be on the charts.

The athletes who do not return the chip on arrival must return it or send it to the organization at the Atleticom headquarters in Via Monti della Farnesina 77, no later than the date of June 11, 2019. Those who do not return it by that date will have to pay the organization € 18.00, equal to the amount requested to the same organization by the company that owns the chips (payment can be made in various ways, see point 3).


16 - BAGS AND CHANGING ROOMS

At the village in Piazza del Popolo special booths will be set up where you can leave your belongings. We recommend not to leave valuable objects. The organization, while taking the utmost care in collecting and returning the bags, does not provide a custody service, therefore cannot be held responsible for any theft, loss or damage. There will be two changing rooms, one for men and one for women.

17 - HEALTH SERVICE

The medical facilities will be arranged throughout the race course and upon arrival.

18 - PRIVACY POLICY

Personal data, the conferment of which is mandatory for the purposes of enrollment at the Mile of Rome, will be processed pursuant to and for the purposes of the provisions of Article 13 of the 2016/679 European Regulation on the protection of personal data ("GDPR") and the National Privacy Law.

The same data indicated at the time of registration is used to prepare the list of participants and classifications, by historical archive, to carry out the services declared in the regulation and for sending information of Il Miglio di Roma to its partners.

At any time, the interested party may consult, modify, cancel his / her data for free by writing to the person in charge of processing personal data at Atleticom ASD, Piazza Giacomo Matteotti 8, 00010 Montelibretti (RM).

 

19 - IMAGE RIGHTS

At the time of registration at the Mile of Rome, the athlete expressly and freely authorizes the organizers, sponsors and media partners to use the still or moving images that portray during their participation in the competition, on all media, including promotional and / or advertising materials, all over the world and for the maximum time required by the laws, regulations, treaties in force, including any extension that may be made to the expected period.


20 - EXEMPTION OF LIABILITY

By registering for the Mile di Roma, the participant accepts the present regulation in its entirety and expressly declares to assume all the risks deriving from participation in the event. As a consequence of this acceptance, the organizing body and the individual subjects who participated in the organization of the sporting event are expressly exempt from any responsibility for any damage or injury deriving from participation in the event.

21 - COMPLAINTS

Complaints should be sent to the appellate judge accompanied by a refundable € 100.00 fee if the claim is accepted.

23 - RACE CANCELLATION

If the event is canceled and / or postponed to another date, or in any case, not carried out due to causes or reasons not attributable and / or not referable to the will of the Organization, including the revocation of the authorization by the Public Bodies competent, the subscriber will have nothing to claim from Atleticom ASD and / or from Atleticom srl neither for the return of the amount paid for registration, nor for reimbursement of any expenses incurred or to be incurred.

 The organization does not provide for a reimbursement of the registration in the event that the participant does not show up for the competition and in case of natural disasters or problems of public order.

In the case of cancellation and / or postponement of the race, the registration made may be used for the new date established or may be used for the race that will be carried out the following year.

 

24 - GENERAL REGULATIONS

 The Organizing Committee reserves the right to modify the present regulations at any time for reasons which it deems appropriate for a better organization of the competition. For anything not provided for in this regulation, the technical rules of the FIDAL are valid. Any changes to services, places and schedules will be appropriately communicated to registered athletes through the event website www.ilmigliodiroma.com or through the official Facebook page.
